coincidences

When you try to find out about people using the web some strange coincidences can turn up. You think you might have found someone but you have to be careful because it might not be them. In searching for John Yarr and people associated with him I have found four curious coincidences.

coincidence number 1

There is a John Yarr on Facebook. You can see a little statue of Buddha in the background of his profile picture. He seems to be interested in spirituality and is involved with a local Buddhist group. I have used a site where it compares two photos to see if it is the same person. It told me that it is not the same person, or very unlikely.

John Yarr is from Northern Ireland so it wouldn't be surprising if a few Yarrs turned up there. There is an animal breeder called John Yarr who turns up in newspaper searches.

coincidence number 2

There is an obituary for a John Yarr. "Sadly passed away on 8th November 2019 at St Richard's Hospital, Chichester, aged 96 years. Beloved Partner of Anne. Father of Michael, Pamela, Peter and Graham". Just as with the Facebook John Yarr, people have contacted me thinking this must be the guru John Yarr.

Cult guru John Yarr lived in Bognor Regis and Slindon, both near Chichester. When Yarr was arrested at Manchester airport in 2000 he was taken by the police to Chichester and charged with several serious offences including the rape of a 7 year old girl. The trial did not go ahead because of a technicality.

The obituary cannot be the cult guru John Yarr though, not unless he was pretending to be younger than his real age and had a secret family that no one knew about!

coincidence number 3

Arthur Naylor is a devotee of John Yarr, describing him as his Master. He wrote a book about spirituality. He is based in Newcastle upon Tyne. If you search for him online you find this, "ARTHUR NAYLOR'S HORRIFIC CRIMES IN NEWCASTLE AND SOUTH TYNESIDE REVEALED". This Arthur Naylor sexually assaulted an 8 year old girl and a 7 year old boy. Incidences so similar to what John Yarr was charged with. However, it is a different Arthur Naylor to the Yarr devotee.

coincidence number 4

One of the most prominent members of John Yarr's post-Lifewave cult is Paul Mahay. He gets a mention in Arthur Naylor's book. He wrote a testimonial for Dr Tim Duerden's site. He wrote a blog post for the 1meditation site. He seems to be involved with promoting The Path in different African countries. Sometimes his name comes up as J Paul Mahay. His first name is Joginder. Sometimes he calls himself Joginder Mahay. If you search for Joginder Mahay online you find this "JOGINDER MAHAY OF SEVENOAKS SENTENCED FOR HORRIFIC CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE IN MAIDSTONE". This Joginder Mahay sexually assaulted two girls, one 7 and the other 9. Again, incidences so similar to what John Yarr was charged with. John Yarr was charged with offences relating to two girls, one of them 7 years old. However, it is a different Joginder Mahay to the Yarr devotee.

There is also another Joginder Paul Mahay who seems to have his own guru.
